First class retreat in Ponce de Leon offers the perfect hunt
Just north of Highway 90 in Ponce de Leon, Florida the Quail Ridge Hunting Preserve boasts the perfect setting for quail hunting. With more than 600 acres of rolling hills, open fields and panoramic views, this preserve offers a first class, top notch experience.
Owned by Walton County businessman, Bill Bell, the retreat runs hunts from October to March and caters to families and children who are old enough to hunt.
As the hunters arrive at the preserve, orientation is hosted at the Power House. Safety is the number one priority, as the personal guides, Lynn Watson and John Foster brief visitors on the many hunt options available at Quail Ridge, and get a feel for what the hunter is looking for. Pheasant hunts are also available with advanced request.
The skeet/trap combo shooting range is available to warm up before a hunt on any one of four well-separated fields, or piney woods.
The English Pointers at Quail Ridge are well-trained seasoned hunt dogs that know their game. These dogs live for the quail hunt, and are ready a waiting for the opportunity. Once the dogs flush the quail, you can hunt singles on foot. Our extensive food plots and cover crops create habitats that hold quail, so you are sure to bust several coveys during a half-day hunt.
Quail Ridges offers much more than just a great game, as there scenic beauty of the area can easily be enjoyed along the many vistas of the Ponce De Leon preserve. White tailed deer fox and turkey are in abundance at the Preserve.
Enjoy a gourmet lunch of prime Black Angus beef raised at the ranch, or catch your own catfish from a large pond stocked with bream and bass as well. Kick back in the screened-in kitchen and dining area, named the ‘Call Back Pen’ nestled along the banks of the pond.
Quail Ridge offers a customized hunting get-a-way by allowing the hunter to decide how long they would like to hunt, and offers luxury accommodations at the Black Pond Lodge. The lodge offers top notch sleeping accommodations for up to eight people, along with a gourmet kitchen, a grilling area on the patio, a screened in porch and a pond to fish. Kick back and enjoy an incredible view of cypress trees along the pond.
