Haunted House at old Lakeside Hospital in DeFuniak Springs Oct. 13, 20, 21, 27, 28

The DeFuniak Springs Art Co-Op, Inc. in cooperation with the Florida Chautauqua Association transforms the former Lakeside Hospital at 1290 Circle Drive in DeFuniak Springs, Florida into a fright night this October. “An Evening with Jason – Long Night at Camp Blood” premieres on Friday, Oct. 13 from 7 pm – midnight. Encore presentations take place the following weekends: Friday, Oct. 20, Saturday, Oct. 21, from 7 – 10 pm and Friday and Saturday, Oct 27 and 28, from 7 pm – midnight. Ticket prices are $13.

Proceeds benefit both non-profit organizations. Parking is available on Baldwin Avenue in historic Downtown DeFuniak Springs and also along Circle Drive and adjoining side streets. Attendees must be at least 12 years of age to enter without an adult or accompanied by a parent if underage.

Come create your own Jason mask. Jason’s character is synonymous with the hockey mask worn in the many versions of the movie, Friday the 13th.  Come to the Art Co-Op every Saturday from 10 a.m. – noon in September and through October 28, to create your own mask for $13. Design your own version that have been sanded, primed and are ready for embellishment with prepared paints and other décor under the helpful guidance of the staff or, if you prefer, you may purchase a mask to work on at home.  Details announcing the “winning” mask can be found at the Art Co-Op at 756 Baldwin Avenue, Suite B. Tickets to the Haunted House will be available at the door. Advance ticket sales are available at the DeFuniak Springs Art Co-Op beginning in September. The Co-Op’s location is 756 Baldwin Avenue, Suite B, next to the Music store, in the historic Downtown area (open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays) accepting cash and credit cards. Additionally, cash only advance sale tickets are also offered at Freeport Pet Clinic at 907 Fl-20 in Freeport, FL. On the coast, Smith’s Antiques at 1250 Emerald Coast Pkwy, Miramar Beach will be selling cash only tickets as will the Visitor’s Center in Santa Rosa Beach at the northeast corner of Highway 331 and 98.
