Choctawhatchee Beach mouse hike at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park Sept. 22

September 11, 2016

beach mouseDate/Time: Thurs., Sept. 22 – 9 – 10 a.m.

Topsail Hill Preserve State Park invites you to enjoy an informational program about one of the imperiled species we share the park with. Beach mice inhabit coastal dunes in the panhandle and along the Atlantic coast of Florida. Development of coastal areas has caused a loss of habitat for beach mice and other plants and animals that live in the dunes. Due to this loss of habitat, five of the six subspecies of beach mice found in Florida are state and federally listed as either endangered or threatened. Enter the park through the main gate and park staff will direct you to Tram Stop 3. If weather is bad a program will be held in the clubhouse. Standard state park entry fees will apply.

$6.00 entry fee to the park per vehicle. Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is located at 7525 W. Scenic Highway 30A, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459. For more information, call (850) 267-8330 ::MAP::
