April 2: Monthly meeting and Program: “A Photographic Essay on the Birds, Bugs, Reptiles and other local Beasties” by Walt Spence, Naturalist and Expert Photographer.  Spence will again dazzle his audience with a brilliant array of digital photographic imagery capturing local wildlife in vivid color and in interesting poses.

The meeting will be held in Room 130 of the new Student Services Building at Northwest Fla. State College. Socializing begins at 6:30 PM, and the program begins at 7:00. Admission is free and open to the interested public. Call Gary Parsons at 850-678-1461 for more information.

April 4:_Scout-a-Rama at Uptown Station, FWB: Adult volunteers are needed to help with educational bird-themed games for Cub Scouts. Time is 10 AM – 2 PM. Contact Walt Spence at 850-582-7064 if you can help. No experience or advanced knowledge is needed.

April 11: Coastal Bird Stewardship Program Training Walk: Led by Caroline Strahala, Audubon Florida Program Manager. Participants should meet at the parking area at the SW foot of the Marler (Destin) Bridge on Okaloosa Island. Call Caroline at 919-673-9393 for more info.

April 25: Choctawhatchee Estuary Family Festival: Adult volunteers are needed to spend a great day at Rocky Bayou State Park teaching children about birds. No experience or advanced knowledge is needed. Call Margaret Benner at 850-678-6665 for more information or to volunteer.
