Enhancement project at Comander’s Landing complete

The enhancement project at Comander’s Landing on the Choctawhatchee River is now complete. Enhancements at the popular Ponce DeLeon location included a handicap canoe/kayak launch, kayak/canoe stations, boardwalk, overnight screened in shelter, restroom (raised portlet), and an educational kiosk site (not yet installed). Witches paddle at Camp Helen State Park Oct. 29

The Friends of Camp Helen citizen support organization invites you to join in for the first Witch’s Paddle on Lake Powell! At 5 – 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022. Wear your best witch, wizard or flying monkey costume for a fun paddle leaving from the shoreline. Kayak/canoe launch at Cowford Landing opens on the Choctawhatchee River

Walton County has completed the new Cowford Landing kayak/canoe launch on the Choctawhatchee River. The new launch is approximately 100 yards past the existing Cowford boat launch located at SR20 and the Choctawhatchee River at 55 Big Cedar Road, Ponce De Leon, FL 32455.
